NOVAI
The Assistant That Already Knows Your Clinic
Most of what a clinic needs to know between patients is already in PDental — on another screen, or in a report someone has to open. NOVAI is the assistant that reads those records for you. Ask it in a sentence, in English or Arabic, and it answers from your clinic's own live data, makes the front-desk update you asked for once you have approved it, explains how to do anything in PDental from PDental's own guides, and answers the clinical question you would otherwise have asked the colleague in the next room.

What you can ask
Anything the Screens Know, in One Question
NOVAI answers from the same live records as the screens, for your branch. If the answer depends on data, it looks it up — it never guesses a balance, a date or a status.
Today and the diary
- “Who is coming in today, and who has arrived?”
- “What is Dr Nour's afternoon like?”
- “Any gaps before noon?”
- “How did today go — booked, came, done?”
Patients
- “Find Mariam Adel — is she insured, and by whom?”
- “When is Omar next due in?”
- “What did we note last time he was here?”
- “Anything outstanding for this patient — a recall, a lab case?”
Stock and materials
- “Are we running low on anything?”
- “How much composite is on the shelf?”
- “What does a zirconia crown cost us in materials?”
Your own day
- “What do I have to do today?”
- “When did I clock in?”
- “Anything new for me?”
Figures and reports
- “What did we take this month?”
- “Run the no-show report for last month”
- “Which doctor had the most completed visits this week?”
How to use PDental
- “How do I book an appointment?”
- “Where do I add an insurance approval?”
- “How do I set up a recall reminder?”
- “How do I send a lab order?”
What it can do for you
Front-Desk Updates, From a Sentence
Each change is shown to you as a card before it is sent, with exactly what will happen written out. Nothing reaches your records until you approve it — and the record then shows you as the person who made the change, because you did.
Book an appointment
"Book Omar a follow-up next Tuesday at 10 with Dr Hossam" — the slot, the doctor and the room, on the card before it is booked.
Move an appointment along
"Mark Sara as arrived", "Mariam confirmed", "Omar didn't show" — Booked to Confirmed to Arrived to Completed, or Cancelled or Missed.
Create a task
"Remind me to call about the lab case on Thursday", "recall Mariam in six months" — created, dated, and assigned to the colleague you named.
Move a task on
"Mark the recall done — she booked", "I've finished the insurance follow-up" — the task moves, with the reason recorded on it.
Comment on a task
"Add to the lab task that the case arrived", "note on the recall that her number has changed" — progress recorded without changing the status.
Add a note to a patient's file
"Note that she prefers morning appointments", "note that he asked about whitening" — what the next person seeing them should know, where they will see it.
The clinical question
Answered the Way a Colleague Would
The people using PDental are dentists, hygienists, assistants and clinic managers, so NOVAI is set to answer their field, not only their software. Which cement suits a zirconia crown; the amoxicillin dose for a 25-kilogram child; what changes in a pregnant patient or one on anticoagulants; the classification behind a note in a chart. Ask, and it answers in the two or three sentences a colleague would give — the material, the dose, the technique — with the reasoning in a line rather than a lecture, and with what to check before acting when the answer is a dose or a contraindication.
Two things stay fixed. It says plainly when something is unsettled, when the usual sources disagree, or when it is not sure — a confident wrong answer to this audience gets acted on. And knowledge and records never blur: anything about one of your own patients comes from their record, never from what the model knows. Whether what is recorded is the right thing is a lookup first and knowledge second.
NOVAI
- Materials, technique, instruments and the guidelines behind them
- Pharmacology and dosing, with what to check before acting
- What changes for a child, a pregnant patient, or a medically compromised one
- The medical history that changes a plan, and what makes someone a risk in the chair
NOVAI supports a trained clinician's decision; it does not make it. Diagnosis, consent and the treatment plan remain yours.
How it stays safe
Built to Be Trusted With a Clinic's Records
It signs in as you
NOVAI has no account of its own. Every question and every change goes through PDental as the signed-in user, in their current branch, so it can only read and do what that person's role allows — the same permission checks the screens use. A receptionist's NOVAI does not see the doctors' commission, and it cannot be talked into it.
Writes wait for your yes
Anything that changes a record is shown to you first, as a card with the exact change written out. Approve it and it is sent; cancel and nothing happened. There is no setting that turns this off.
Records come from PDental, never from memory
A balance, a date, an appointment status — NOVAI looks it up every time. If it cannot, it tells you in one plain sentence rather than filling the gap. A patient's details are never something it "remembers".
How-to comes from PDental's own guides
When you ask how to do something, the steps come from PDental's own help, in English or Arabic, and the buttons and fields it names are the ones on your screen. If a guide does not cover it, NOVAI says so instead of describing a menu that is not there.
You can see what it remembers
Across chats NOVAI keeps a few notes about how you work — the names you use for things, what you usually ask about — so you do not repeat yourself. They are listed in the panel, you can delete any of them, and a note that stops coming up expires on its own. Chats themselves are kept for 30 days.
It can be wrong, and says so
Every answer carries the same line the app shows: NOVAI can be wrong — check anything you are about to act on. It is there to make the answer fast. You still carry the decision, clinical or otherwise.
Where you'll find it
Beside Every Screen, at the Desk and in the Surgery
Beside every screen
A panel next to whatever you are on. Open a patient or a task and NOVAI already knows which one you mean — ask "when are they next in?" without naming them.
Type it, say it, or show it
Dictate a question between patients, have the answer read back to you, or attach a photo and ask what it is.
Arabic and English
Ask in either. NOVAI answers in the language you used, and its how-to steps use the labels on your own screen in that language.
Your branch, your role
NOVAI acts inside the branch you are signed in to, with your permissions. Ask about another branch and it says it can only see yours.
Common questions
Can NOVAI see my patients' data?
It can see exactly what you can see, and nothing more. NOVAI signs in as whoever is asking, in their current branch, and PDental applies the same permission checks it applies when that person opens a screen. Patient details are looked up from the record when you ask and are not stored in the assistant.
Does it ever change anything without asking?
No. Every change — a booking, an appointment status, a task, a note on a patient's file — is shown to you first as a card with the exact change written out, and it is only sent when you approve it. Cancel, and nothing has happened. Questions that only read data do not ask, because nothing changes.
Can it answer clinical questions?
Yes. PDental's NOVAI is set to answer clinical dentistry — materials, dosing, technique, contraindications and the guidelines behind them — the way a colleague would, in a few sentences, and it says plainly when it is unsure or when sources disagree. It supports a trained clinician's decision rather than making it, and anything about one of your own patients still comes from their record, never from general knowledge.
Does it work in Arabic?
Yes. Ask in Arabic and it answers in Arabic, including the how-to steps, which use the Arabic labels on your own screen. Ask in English and it answers in English. The clinical answers work the same way.
Is NOVAI included with PDental?
NOVAI is enabled per clinic with a monthly usage allowance. The panel shows how much of this month's allowance the clinic has used and warns you before it runs out, and the clinic can be told by notification or email as it gets low. Ask us on the demo call about the allowance that fits your clinic.
Where do my chats go?
Chats are kept for your account for 30 days so you can reopen an earlier conversation from the panel, and you can clear any of them. The notes NOVAI keeps about how you work are listed under "What NOVAI remembers", where you can delete any single note or all of them.

Meet NOVAI: The Assistant Inside PDental That Knows Today's Schedule
Between patients, a clinic asks the same questions all day — who has arrived, when is she next due, are we low on composite — and every answer is on a different screen. NOVAI is the assistant inside PDental that answers them in a sentence, books and confirms once you approve, and explains how to use the app. What it does, what it will not, and what to try first.
An Assistant With Your Permissions, Not Its Own: How NOVAI Handles Patient Data
Putting an AI assistant next to patient records is a trust decision before it is a feature decision. The four rules NOVAI is built on — it signs in as you, every change is a card, records are looked up rather than remembered, and what it remembers you can see — and the questions to put to any vendor who offers a clinic one.
Ask a Colleague: Using NOVAI as a Clinical Reference Between Patients
Which cement for this crown. What dose for this child. What changes for the patient on anticoagulants. NOVAI, the assistant inside PDental, answers clinical questions the way a colleague in the next room would — in a few sentences, with the reasoning, and with what to check before acting. How it does that, where it draws the line, and how to use it well.
