Digital patient record
The Complete Digital Patient Record
The clinical question and the financial question about a patient are usually asked in the same thirty seconds. PDental answers both from one screen, so nobody leaves the room to go and look something up.

The problem
The cost of a record split across a folder, a drive and a memory
- The chart is on paper, the X-rays are on a drive, the balance is in an accounts file.
- Nobody can reconstruct what was done at a visit two years ago without archaeology.
- The same medical-history questions get asked differently by whoever happens to ask them.
- Duplicate records accumulate silently until two histories exist for one person.
What it does
The Complete Digital Patient Record
Interactive dental chart
Per-tooth notes, canal measurements and the full treatment history on the tooth it belongs to. Clinical state is recorded where a dentist looks for it rather than in a text field at the bottom of a form.
A visit timeline
Every appointment, doctor and procedure in chronological order. This is what turns "what did we do for her?" from a five-minute search into a scroll.
Medical history from your own question bank
You define the questions once and every patient is asked the same ones, with allergies flagged. Attachments hang off the record, so consent scans, referral letters and imaging live with the patient rather than in a shared folder.
Prescriptions from reusable templates
Issue a prescription from a template instead of retyping it, printed with your own document design.
Patient ledger on the same screen
Procedures, payments and outstanding balance side by side with the clinical record, so the conversation about treatment and the conversation about money use the same numbers.
Tags and duplicate detection
Colour-coded tags group patients however your clinic thinks about them, and duplicate-record detection catches the second file before it becomes a second history.
What changes
Context arrives before the patient does
The record opens with everything the appointment needs, so the first minute is clinical rather than administrative.
Handover stops depending on who is in today
A covering dentist sees the same history the usual one would, which matters most on exactly the days it is hardest to arrange.
The database stays clean as it grows
Tags and duplicate detection do the tidying continuously, instead of a cleanup project nobody schedules.
Common questions
Can we migrate the patient records we already have?
Yes — import is a built-in capability, and migration is part of onboarding rather than a paid extra. What matters is the shape of your current export; bring a sample to the demo call and we will tell you directly what will map cleanly and what will not.
Can we get our records back out?
At any time. Clinical and financial records are exportable from inside the product, and a full export is available on request if you ever leave. Your data being portable is not a favour we do you.
Who can see a patient's record?
Whoever your permissions say. Access is defined per role, per module and per branch, so a receptionist at one branch does not automatically see clinical notes from another.

The Digital Patient File: What Actually Belongs on One Screen
A split patient record is a clinical risk, not just an admin annoyance. What a complete dental record contains, what duplicate files quietly break, and how to judge a system before you migrate.
The Modern Dental Patient Experience Is an Operations Problem
Patients judge the whole journey: booking, reminders, waiting, explanations, payment and follow-up. Improving experience starts with fixing the handoffs.
